THE FORGED DOCUMENTS

In Chapter II we analysed Andonian’s forgeries, with English translations based on the Ottoman ‘originals’. In this Appendix, we provide photographs of all of Andonian’s Ottoman ‘originals’, together with his French and English translations in the same order and with the same numbers under which they are presented in Chapter II.

 


 

1. ‘The Premeditation’

‘Documents’ Nos. I—II

Under this heading Andonian published the Ottoman ‘originals’ of two forged documents which he attributed either to the Committee of Union and Progress, or to Behaeddin ?akir Bey. The Ottoman ‘originals’, together with the French and English translations, are given below.

6.' Efforts to Justify'

Andonian, for whatever reason of his own, did not attempt to support his charges under this heading with Ottoman ‘originals’ of forged documents.


7. ‘The Second Act’

‘Document’ No. XV

Under this heading Andonian cited only one forged document, an order which he attributed to Enver Pasha. However, as noted in Chapter II, he did not provide an Ottoman ‘original’ for this forgery. As a result, our analysis is based on the French ‘translation’ in the Paris edition of his work. In this section, we present the French and English ‘translations’ of this ‘document’.
